Road cyclists and mountain bikers are spoilt for choice here in the beautiful Lake District. The Coniston Valley offers quiet country lanes, permitted cycle ways, heaps of bridleways and fantastic views. The perfect place for a break away on two wheels, no matter what your ability, there are gentle family rides, serious off-road routes and scenic lake side road rides all waiting to be discovered.
We have a range of over 80 self-catering cottages sleeping from 2 to 35. There’s secluded mountain cottages for the ultimate escape, leafy lakeside retreats & cosy village cottages designed just for two, the majority of which offer secure bike storage. Full week, mid-week and weekend breaks are all available too, so whatever your requirements, we are sure to find the perfect cottage to suit your needs!
Head out from Coniston by mountain bike and discover Little Langdale or the never ending trails of Grizedale Forest. If you fancy a fuller day in the saddle the ultimate ride has to be a full circuit of Coniston Water. There are also several family friendly routes nearby, including the Coniston to Torver Trail.
